What You Need to Know To Get Saved

[social_warfare]

Everyone is born a sinner

We are all born spiritually dead or separated from God because of Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden.  This wretched condition is the cause of all human misery including sickness, disease, hatred, racism, injustice, poverty, hunger and so forth.

Man cannot do anything apart from God to fix his wretched condition.  All human self-help methods are nothing more than dead religion.  What then is the fix for this dilemma?

There is only one fix

His name is Jesus.  Putting genuine faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only cure for man’s wretched condition.  Once a person exercises true faith in Christ he experiences salvation.

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the Word of God in the flesh (John 1:1, 14).  He is the Way, Truth, and Life; and no person can know God the Father except through Him.  (John 14:6)

Jesus became flesh so He could enter the world and die sacrificially for humanity.  Adam’s death was necessary to reconnect man to God. The disconnect occurred when Adam ate fruit from the forbidden tree. His sin caused death to come on everyone. For this reason, the Bible calls Jesus the last Adam because He corrected what the first Adam messed up.  (1 Corinthians 15:45)

Who needs salvation?

As we said above, everyone needs salvation because we are all born disconnected from God. Salvation is the spiritual and eternal deliverance given immediately by God to any person who meets God’s conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus.  At that moment, the person is BORN-AGAIN, which means the Holy Spirit gives the person eternal life—God’s life!

How can a person receive salvation?

There are four simple steps. A person must:

  1. Experience godly sorrow. II Corinthians 7:10
  2. Ask Jesus to come into his heart.
  3. Believe with all of his heart that Jesus was crucified for the sins of humanity, but God raised Him from the dead.
  4. Tell everyone that Jesus is his Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9-10

If a person meets these conditions, he can prayer the simple prayer below.  It is called the prayer of salvation.

“Heavenly Father, I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins, that You raised from the dead on the third day, and He’s alive right now. Lord Jesus, I ask You now, come into my heart. Live Your life in me and through me. I repent of my sins and surrender myself totally and completely to You.”

CONGRATULATIONS!

If you repeated the prayer above, you have received salvation and are now born-again.  Your new life in Christ has begun.  Now you can start fulfilling your divine purpose. Here’s a list of actions that will help you grow strong in Christ:

  1. Join a Bible-teaching church. Hebrews 10:25
  2. Avoid your ungodly friends, places, etc., unless necessary. 1 Cor. 15:33.
  3. Pray and read the Bible daily. 1 Peter 2:2
